Book your 2022/2023 wedding!

Firstly, congratulations on deciding to make your love OFFICIAL!

All professional wedding photographers have their unique own style and approach to wedding photography. For me, I’ve always captured weddings in a natural and fun way with the odd twist! If you and your fabulous guests are happy and relaxed, the photographs will reflect this.

For the most part, I shoot in a documentary or reportage fashion and in this way I get to capture very real moments. It’s very often those fleeting moments captured, the photographs that you didn’t know were being taken, are the ones that mean the most.

When it comes to the romantic side of things or the formal group shots, I still keep things natural and the group shots take no longer than 10 minutes. Your guests will be there because they love you and want to spend quality time with you, reminisce, laugh and chat on what’ll be a never-to-be-forgotten time in your life and the more time there is for this, the better. The ‘couples’ shots are captured in a way that feels like we’re going for a relaxed wander and spontaneously find the perfect spots to take some gorgeous photographs of you both. Again, keeping things natural brings out the best in everyone and I never ask anyone to smile. The whole process should be done in a way that you will be anyway!

After your wedding you are invited back to the studio to view your images and chose the ones you would like in your album. Again the kettle is always on and I never tire of seeing the look on couples faces as they re-live their wedding day.

All weddings are unique and our beautiful hand-made designed albums are created in such a way that they always do a couple’s day justice.

We are a husband and wife team – I love to capture the day (and chat!) and Jacky equally loves going to work on creating the perfect bespoke album with the pictures of your choice. We make that every album reflect the couples day perfectly and it is only then your album goes to print by THE UK’s award-winning leading lab who we’ve built a great working relationship with for over 15 years. Each step of the way needs to be taken with care but also with a smile and it’s for that reason I feel that we get so many lovely comments and messages from our couples – it’s good for the soul !

Whether or not you have set a date for YOUR Big Day, you are very welcome to come and visit our photography studio in Hertford (there’s ample free parking), have a browse through our extensive selection of real life wedding albums and have a cuppa! Ours are complete wedding albums from many of the stunning local wedding venues including Fanhams Hall Hotel, Hanbury Manor Hotel and Country Club, St Michael’s Manor, Brocket Hall, Essendon Golf Club, to name just a few.

I’m also a destination wedding photographer and have been fortunate enough to capture weddings in Italy, France and Ireland – as long as there’s a couple in love, along with their amazing friends and family I’m there!

If couples do come for a chat I never ask them if they’d like to chose me to capture their Special Day. It’s a decision that should be given consideration as your wedding photographer will play a very personal and inclusive part of your day. so they should be someone you’d like to invite to your wedding anyway !

If you have any questions at all please feel free to contact me and I’ll be of whatever help I can be.

Hannah and David

Gosfield Hall, February 2020

Hannah and David’s wedding was a complete JOY from start to finish but what I loved most was the natural way they were around each other, which showed in the photographs. They were up for anything and to hear their lovely words afterwards made it all the sweeter !!

We just wanted to drop you a quick message to say thank you again for seeing us last night! It was such a joy seeing all the pictures you have captured and helping us build our album! They are all great – but there are a few pictures in there that are just another level, far beyond anything we every thought we would have, so thank you very much!

Getting married? Free engagement photo shoot!

Have you started 2017 in a beautifully romantic way ? I would LOVE to hear how the proposal was made ! Was it a surprise ? Did it all go according to plan or was the ‘new plan’ even more special ?

It’d be lovely to share some romance as we start the New Year and, with your permission, post your lovely stories to warm our hearts on these chilly days !

Also, from January through to March I am doing free engagement sessions for anyone wanting to mark the occasion and remember it as a beautiful step in their live’s journey !

Wedding Photography at Luton Hoo

Sometimes a venue and a couple match perfectly to create a perfect wedding and stunning memories. Sarah and Matt’s wedding was one such day. From the minute I arrived until midnight when I left it was a complete joy. Sarah’s dress not only suited her elegant demeanour but it was a glove-like fit for Luton Hoo too. The Austin cars added another dimension to proceedings, making me feel like I stepped back in time to a time when everywhere you looked there were stunning buildings, tailoring and machines made with design first and foremost over functionality.

The wedding itself was a truly genuine and beautiful event to behold and capture. What I love most about what I do is that I’m privileged enough to be present at a day that will forever mean a great deal to a couple and generations to come will be able to ‘experience’ the day even if they were not there. By photographing a wedding unobtrusively I get to capture moments that maybe last 1/125th of a second and yet by capturing it they are frozen forever. I never take this for granted.

After the Church we made our way back to Luton Hoo and when you arrive at the top of the drive you really know you’ve arrived ! The place is breathtaking. Only word that does it justice. The grounds, the food , the ambience and the thing that really turns something from a cost into a value is the staff. I am lucky enough to travel far and wide to weddings (I’m regularly in Italy and France) and I always see how staff take care of the suppliers ‘working’ (its my passion so not ‘work’ as such !) on the day. The staff at Luton Hoo were exemplary. They treated myself and the Toastmaster as if we were guests and this, to me, says a lot about how they naturally care for all those in attendance.

The reception was a celebration to behold and the bar being in the same room as the music meant that all the guests were together for the entire night. I popped out to see how the building looked by night and as soon as I saw it was illuminated, my creative mind went into overdrive ! I asked if the couple would like some fresh air and took them outside for 5 minutes. The resulting pictures were placed at the end of the album (although they were taken earlier in the evening when the couple needed a break from showing their guests some moves !) and rounded the album off gorgeously – the feeling I was going for was that he couple’s night had ended and popped out together to just take in everything that had happened.

By capturing a day with care, passion and in a way that fits around the day itself I capture memories that will remind couples of their WEDDING and NOT a photoshoot.

I’ve never not loved what I do since becoming a photographer 15 years ago and will continue to love what I do because the memories I capture will always be something that means something to fabulous couples !

Thank you for taking the time to read this !

The fabulous Greek wedding of Vaso and Paul, how to do it in STYLE !!!

Sunday was the day after my amazing day at Hatfield House and I was looking forward to an equally fabulous day – and I certainly got just that ! I arrived to photograph Vaso getting ready for her Big Day and was immediately hit with a wave of Greek hospitality, food being ‘forced’ into me (me being the gent I am I obviously obliged with NO fuss !) and a house full of people who brought a house full of LOVE with them ! Andy arrived with his violin and the traditional ceremonies began. The music and singing was captivating and hypnotic. Various family members came to take part in a variety of different customary rituals. The thing I loved was the feeling that as the bride’s mother came to take part she knew exactly what to do because she remembered her own wedding day and Vaso will perhaps find herself in the same position one day too. There was a real feeling that the wedding was a moment in Greek history, the next generation getting married. The Ceremony took part at St. Mary’s Cathedral and the traditional feelings continued. Later on traditional Greek music provided by Millennium made sure that if people WERE sat down it was because they’d either danced too hard or fell over in the process ! The final traditional aspect of the day I felt was that each and every person was there because they loved Vaso and Paul and as in generations gone by, they knew how to party !
